The Beginning

I have been very fortunate that my many years at Sprint/United Telecom have equipped me to help small and medium sized businesses.  I was surrounded by a lot of smart people, strong leaders, and had the opportunity to be involved with many different business functions from Finance, Technology, Marketing, Planning, Customer Service, and Operations.  The opportunity to roll out Economic Value Added (EVA), Activity Based Management (ABM), and Total Quality Management (TQM) in Sprint’s Long Distance Division provided a solid foundation to help small and medium sized businesses.  My career also touched a lot of the major initiatives that drove United Telecom’s transition to Sprint and provided a great experience in linking together Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Technology.  My strong involvement with developing the economic framework for building the nations first national fiber optic network, creation of US Sprint (United Telecom/GTE partnership), many merger opportunities, Corporate Strategy Review Team, and the formation of Sprint PCS (Sprint’s partnership with 3 cable companies) provided a great framework for developing business plans.

In short, Sprint was a great real world learning experience.
